PRIVACY POLICY
Last updated 7 October 2026
Vector Tango is a mixed-reality air traffic control game for Meta Quest, developed by Matt Scobel ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the game and this website collect, why, and what control you have over it. It applies to the Vector Tango application on Meta Horizon OS and to vector-tango.com.
WHAT WE COLLECT
In the game
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Meta user ID | Identifies which player a leaderboard score belongs to, so your runs are recorded against you and recognised across sessions and devices. |
| Meta username | Shown beside your score on the in-game leaderboard and on Meta's leaderboard, so you and your friends can recognise each other in the rankings. |
| Leaderboard scores | The number of flights safely landed in a run, plus the time the run ended, to build global and friends rankings. |
| Player link | When the game starts, it sends your Meta user ID and username with the game's install identifier to our own database (Convex). We use this link to run, support and improve Vector Tango, for example to see which beta testers have played and when. Analytics reports stay anonymous. We delete the link when you ask, or when we no longer need it. |
| Anonymous usage analytics | A random identifier generated on your device, along with events such as which menu screens were opened, which mode was chosen, how far a run progressed, and the app version. Used to find where players get stuck and to fix problems. |
The random analytics identifier is created by the game and is not your Meta account ID. We do not send your Meta user ID, username or any other Meta profile information to our analytics provider.
The game does not collect audio, video, images, passthrough camera frames, room scans, hand or eye tracking data, or precise location. Room geometry used to place the airport on your table is processed on your headset and never leaves it.
On this website
If you join the early access list we store your email address, the date you signed up, and the version of the consent notice you agreed to. If you choose to give them, we also store your headset model, your Meta gamertag and your X account. We use this to send beta invitations and development updates, to match you to your leaderboard runs, and to thank you for feedback, and for nothing else.
When you visit this website we count page views with PostHog to see where visitors come from and whether they join the list: the page address, the referring site, campaign tags in the link, browser and device type, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. A random identifier is kept in your browser's local storage. If you join the list, we keep that identifier with your signup, so we can count how many signups later join the beta. No cookies are set, and your email address is never sent to PostHog. If your browser sends Do Not Track, the website records nothing.
HOW WE USE IT
- To run the leaderboards and show scores with names attached.
- To understand how the game is played so we can improve it.
- To diagnose crashes and performance problems.
- To send beta invitations and updates to people who asked for them.
We do not sell your information, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.
WHO WE SHARE IT WITH
We use a small number of service providers, who process data only on our instructions:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Meta Platform Technologies | Account identity, entitlement checks and the Meta leaderboard. Meta's handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policy. |
| PostHog | Anonymous analytics for the game and this website. Receives no Meta account data and no email addresses. |
| Convex | Backend storage for leaderboard scores and the early access list. |
| Resend | Sending email to people on the early access list. |
| Vercel | Hosting for this website, and private storage for videos that beta testers send us. |
We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our players.
HOW LONG WE KEEP IT
- Leaderboard entries are kept while the leaderboard is active. Boards may be reset between major releases.
- Analytics events are retained for up to 12 months and then deleted.
- Email list entries are kept until you remove yourself, using the private removal link included when you sign up.
- Videos that beta testers send through their personal upload link are used only to fix bugs and are deleted after 90 days.
YOUR CHOICES AND RIGHTS
- Analytics. You can turn usage analytics off in the game's settings. The game remains fully playable with analytics off.
- Leaderboards. Playing competitive mode is optional, and you can ask us to remove your leaderboard entry at any time.
- Email. Every signup includes a private removal link, and every email includes a way to unsubscribe.
- Access and deletion. You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing the address below. We will respond within 30 days.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA, including the right to object to processing or to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
CHILDREN
Vector Tango is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
SECURITY
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with reputable providers. Email addresses on the early access list are stored hashed alongside the address itself so that removal links cannot be guessed. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit what we collect specifically to reduce what could be exposed.
CHANGES
If this policy changes in a way that materially affects you, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the game or by email.
